Stephen Haynes - Owner and Trainer

Austin dog trainer Stephen Haynes owns and operates Fidelio Dog Works. A dog lover since childhood, Steve started his professional career as an executive in computer software and hardware sales. After the "dot-com crash" he knew it was time to do something more fulfilling with his life. While playing with his dogs one sunny afternoon, he decided to make a career doing what he loved best.

Steve enrolled in a professional dog training school to perfect his talents. He opened Fidelio Dog Works after graduation. Now, Steve uses his corporate background and years of training expertise to help people with their dogs. He also donates his services to charity in his spare time. He aids drug rehab facilities, training their adopted dogs to serve as companions for recovering patients. He also assists animal rescue groups with behavioral problems they can’t resolve on their own, ensuring those dogs find good homes.

Steve lives in Austin with his wife, baby daughter and three well-trained dogs.  Hallie is a 15 year-old miniature schnauzer who is as loyal as Lassie and as feisty as Katharine Hepburn in The Philadelphia Story.  Gwennie is a 6 year-old welsh springer spaniel with a demeanor somewhere between a femme fatale and a 5 year old boy who's had too much caffeine.  Bailey, an english cocker, who would like to be out hunting every day, is a little spark plug who keeps her sisters on their toes.  All three dogs are in constant training and always learning new skills.

Dog training isn't just a job for Steve – it's his life's work. More than anything, he wants every dog lover's relationship with their four-legged friend to be as fun and fulfilling as his own.

Jamie Tower - Trainer

Jamie moved to Austin the spring of 2003 after selling her Business Development Consulting company in Washington, DC.  Upon her retirement from corporate consulting and training Jamie started looking for more meaningful work.   Soon she found Fidelio dog works and instantly recognized a kindred spirit in Steve Haynes. Her love of dogs and ability to work with people make her an excellent trainer and we are happy to have Jamie and her dog Gracie with Fidelio.

When Jamie isn't working with the puppies of Fidelio you can find her on one of the many Austin golf courses or out playing tennis, weather permitting.  When it is cold or rainy you'll find her trying to master the art of knitting, writing, or simply reading a good book.

Edye - Office Assistant

When you call Fidelio you will probably talk to Edye. She's a lifelong dog person and very much misses her beloved Italian Greyhound, Scout.
