Puppy Preschool — Saturday Mornings at Fidelio Dog Works

Saturdays · 10:00 AM–12:00 PM · 1501 Parkway, downtown Austin
A two-hour, trainer-led class for puppies 10 to 18 weeks old — and the people raising them. Puppy Preschool is a training class: we coach you on how to raise your puppy so its development stays on schedule, and we build confident, neutral dogs that thrive.
Class size is limited. Submit a booking request and you’ll receive a confirmation if a spot is available.
Why Puppy Preschool
The window for shaping a confident, well-mannered adult dog is short — and most of it closes early. Puppy Preschool is not a free-for-all play group. Every session is run by Fidelio trainers who manage the room, pair puppies thoughtfully, and coach you through the moments that matter: greetings, startle recovery, settling on a cot, and coming when called around real distractions.
Midway through class, puppies go down for a nap in kennels — a built-in kennel exercise that develops a calm off-switch and real crate comfort. While the puppies rest, the humans get classroom work: focused coaching on what to do at home this week so development stays on track.
The goal isn’t a puppy that’s frantic to greet every dog and person it sees. It’s a puppy that’s confident and neutral — able to notice the world and stay in a thinking state. That’s the foundation everything else is built on.

Two Ways to Join
Drop-In Session — $99 per Saturday, as space allows. Come when your schedule allows. Drop-in spots open only when the roster isn’t full, so request early — Saturdays fill first.
4-Session Package — $300 (save $96). Four Saturdays through the heart of the development window, with skills and coaching that build week over week. The package is the right call for most puppies in this age range.
Booking is a request, not an instant reservation — you’ll receive a confirmation if a spot is available. No card required to request; payment is taken when you arrive.
What to Bring
Your puppy on a flat collar with a standard leash — no harnesses, no retractables
A small bag of your puppy’s own kibble — that’s all the food reward this class needs
Proof of vaccinations (first visit only)
The whole family is welcome — children must stay with an adult
Common Questions
My puppy hasn’t finished the full vaccine series. Can we come? Yes — that’s the point. Waiting for the full series means missing the development window. We require the DHPP series to be underway and first Bordetella, and we keep the floor sanitized to veterinary standards.
Why do the puppies nap in the middle of class? Because rest is part of development, and because the nap is itself a training exercise. Puppies settle in kennels and practice being calm and comfortable in a crate away from home — while their humans get the classroom coaching portion of the session.
What if my puppy is shy or overwhelmed? Shy puppies are why trainers run this room. We manage pairings and give a nervous puppy the space to observe and warm up at its own pace. Neutrality — not forced interaction — is the goal.
Is this a training class? Yes. Puppy Preschool is a structured training class, and the humans are half the curriculum — you’ll leave every week knowing exactly what to work on at home. When your puppy is ready for the next step, our Day Training and Board & Train programs pick up from there.
Saturdays fill fast
